for Maple pupils
Our approach extends beyond the classroom through a wide range of enriching experiences. Outdoor learning plays a key role in supporting well-being, with opportunities such as Forest School, where pupils can explore, take risks safely, and develop resilience and independence. Gardening activities allow children to connect with nature, learn responsibility, and experience a sense of achievement as they nurture and grow plants.
In addition, we offer a variety of enrichment activities designed to support physical, emotional, and social development. These include creative arts, sports, mindfulness sessions, and collaborative projects that encourage teamwork and self-expression. By providing diverse opportunities, we help pupils discover their interests, build confidence, and develop a strong sense of belonging within the school community.
Through this holistic approach, Maple Haven ensures that every pupil feels supported, empowered, and able to thrive both emotionally and academically.
for Maple staff
At Maple Haven, we recognise that staff well-being is essential to creating a positive and supportive environment for our pupils. We are committed to ensuring that all staff feel valued, supported, and able to maintain a healthy work–life balance.
We provide a range of continued professional development opportunities, enabling staff to grow in their roles, build confidence, and progress in their careers. This is complemented by competitive rates of pay, reflecting the importance we place on attracting and retaining high-quality staff.
To support well-being more directly, staff are offered a half-day off each year dedicated to personal well-being, as well as a yearly well-being activity of their choice. We also provide access to a confidential counselling service, ensuring that staff have professional support whenever they may need it.
Our community-focused approach includes regular opportunities to connect and unwind together, such as Christmas and summer celebrations, which help to foster a strong sense of team spirit. In addition, we offer after-school yoga sessions to promote relaxation and physical well-being.
Ongoing support is embedded in our daily practice through regular supervisions and informal drop-in sessions, where staff can share concerns, reflect on their work, and receive guidance in a supportive environment.
By prioritising staff well-being in these ways, Maple Haven creates a positive, respectful workplace where staff feel appreciated, supported, and motivated to do their best.
