Book – The Rainbow Fish
This term we are going to be getting to know the ins and outs of who we are. Everyone is different, everyone looks at life from a different perspective, so let us see what that is like from all angles. We will look at the emotions of starting school, look at how we have changed and how we are still changing. We will celebrate ourselves and everything we are good at, as well as what makes us sad and how we can make things better. We will explore what we look like, and why other people do not look the same. As well as what different families may look like too.

Book - The night before Christmas
In our Christmas themed project, we know this is celebrated in December and the children get so excited when we begin to start the countdown to Christmas. But do they understand why we even celebrate it? During this project we are going to be exploring the religious aspects of a Christian Festival, as well as the story of the birth of Jesus, and why it is so important to Christians. This will allow the children to start asking those big ‘why’ questions! As well as being able to make comparisons to other religious festivals.

Book – The dinosaur that pooped a planet
Have you ever wanted to be an astronaut; well, our children will be able to learn all about space in this fun project. We will be exploring different planets through sensory play, as well as different foods and activities they may do in space. We will take adventures through the galaxy, to see what other life forms there are in space. The children will love learning and making different models of the planets that surround Earth. Get ready in your rocket, 3, 2, 1, Launch!

Term 4 - Once upon a time
Book- The three little pigs
In the Once upon a time project, we are going to be exploring the imagination through fairytales. We will have lots of fun, role-playing different scenes, as well as learning how to sequence and re-tell the story. The children will be exposed to many different stories with the once upon a time theme, ranging from the three little pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Puss in Boots. These will be explored through sensory exploration, tuff tray activities as well as story bags.

Book – The Very Hungry Caterpillar
We are going to be learning about all sorts of different animals. This is so important to the children as they are so lucky with the surroundings within Quex. We are going to get up close and personal with all the different animals, they will learn different body parts, their living environments, habitats, what they eat and where they sleep. The children will be able to observe these animals throughout their animal care lessons and report back on farmyard animal knowledge. As well as, exploring how we can live a healthy lifestyle.

Book- Colourful Fish
This project will allow the children to really explore different under the sea habitats. They will be learning about different creatures that live among the sea life, as well as being able to dive deep into different seas that surround us. The children will have so much fun with local visits to the beaches and aquariums around us. We will also cover how to be safe in the water within this project.
