Kindness, Respect, Determination, Growth and Curiosity

Forest school/Gardening sessions

At Maple Haven, we believe in the transformative power of nature-based learning. Our Forest School and gardening sessions provide pupils with meaningful opportunities to engage with the outdoors, fostering a love for the environment while developing essential life skills. Through hands-on experiences, pupils are encouraged to explore, create, and build strong connections with the natural world around them.

Our experienced practitioners support pupils through a wide range of Forest School and gardening activities designed to promote teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving. Each session encourages curiosity and self-discovery, allowing pupils to take appropriate risks within a safe and nurturing environment. Pupils develop a sense of responsibility by caring for plants, tools, and shared outdoor spaces.

We actively strengthen links with the wider community through our gardening and Forest School programmes by working alongside local organisations, volunteers, and community members. Pupils may take part in shared projects such as maintaining community gardens, growing produce for local use, or learning from visitors with specialist knowledge. These experiences help pupils understand the value of cooperation, contribution, and belonging within their community.

Through participation in Forest School and gardening, pupils enhance their physical and emotional wellbeing while gaining a deeper understanding of ecological principles and sustainable practices. At Maple Haven, we are committed to nurturing confident, capable individuals who value, respect, and contribute positively to the world they inhabit.
